On the Greenest Grass

Why "On the Greenest Grass" for this blog title? One of my favorite quotes is by Robert Fulghum. He shares, "The grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side of the fence. Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is greenest where it is watered. When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be."

I find that people are quite often discontent with where they are now, that people are too busy trying to "keep up with the Joneses" (or how they perceive the Joneses to be based on an outsider's view), and that society is moving more and more toward the desire for quick fixes. Of course, I think it is admirable for someone to see that he/she can improve their current situation; however, I think that is best achieved through goal-setting and hard work...and, "tend[ing] the grass wherever you may be."

So, my promise is to take care of what I have to the best of my ability, to nurture my relationships and do my part to make them the best they can be, and to treat each blade of my grass as the great gift that it is.
